HARK THE VOICE OF JESUS CALLING

Hark the voice of Jesus calling, "Who will go and work today?

Fields are white and harvests waiting; Who will bear the sheaves away?"

Earnestly the Master calleth; Rich reward He offers free;

Who will answer, gladly saying, "Here am I, O Lord, send me."

Time is approaching for this year's Navajo Restoration Experience held in Pinon, Arizona. Each year, saints from over America travel to Arizona to answer God's call. This year, will you answer His call? Here are parts of some of the testimonies that have been shared about the Navajo Restoration Reunions:

"I became aware that this was something that the Lord was calling not only myself, but many others as well, to thrust in their sickles with all their might for the field was truly white and nearly past the point of being ready to harvest."

"Though the camp was primitive, the country was beautiful to our frazzled souls. The panoramic views, spectacular sunsets, rainbows, rain clouds and the smell of Pinon after the precious rainfalls were all comforting. "Nozhoni, eh" (It is beautiful)."

"At the end of the first day as I retired to my tent, I prayed to the Lord, "How can I share Jesus with these women? I can not even understand them, and they can not understand me. Please, show me how to share Jesus." Then the Lord spoke in His still small voice and said, "You can show them Jesus through your love." "

"Seven of the Children from this class were baptized this year, fourteen were baptized in all, six on Wednesday and eight more the following day. The spirit was there with us for Friday night's dedication service. The Lord touched the heart of each of us in a 2 hour service that seemed to be over in just a few minutes."

"Hearts were broken and many received blessings and healings as they came before the Lord in repentance. Old friendships were renewed and many new acquaintances were established. All who were unsure at first, as to whether they should have come, confirmed that they would definitely be back."

"Arriving at the reservation is like coming home for me. ..Many joyous memories flood my mind as the mesas and desert, country once again comes in view, friendships, tragedies, spiritual experiences a love for my Navajo friends, the knowledge of God's love and desires for them, and that they learn of the Book of Mormon."

"It was so pleasurable to hear the gospel of Jesus Christ presented in such simplicity. I know that was done to benefit our brothers and sisters of the Navajo Nation, but it was a blessing to me as well. A simple reminder that the true gospel is not complicated, but such that a child can understand it."

"I will tell you now; my life will never be the same."

"Navajo Day on Friday was a special day, not just for them, but for us too. The People came in their traditional dress and jewelry and provided a wonderful sample of their music, dancing, and crafts. The relaxed nature of the day gave us a perfect opportunity to visit with different ones and get to know them better. We made new friends!"

"Even though we experienced some hardships, we know that the hand of the Lord and his angels were with us the whole time."

"Would you do it again?" In a heartbeat!"

**Life Style Changes
By Barb and George Allen

There have been many changes in the lifestyle of the Navajo Nation. But with all these modern conveniences, the need for the ministry of Jesus Christ in their lives becomes an even greater necessity. With the coming of electricity, the television with all of the violence and corruption has come alive in the lives of the children. Because of this, suicide and murder are becoming more and more frequent. This is why we need to press forward in our efforts to bring them to the knowledge of Jesus Christ through the fullness of the Restored Gospel. Over the years we have met and become brothers and sisters to many of our Navajo people. As they come to know and trust us, then we become part of their family. They are a kind and gentle people, and their families are precious to them. If one is in trouble, the whole family comes to the rescue.

**Should Everyone Be Required To Attend The Navajo Reunion?
By Ray Treat

All saints, especially priesthood, should be required to spend at least a week on the Navajo Reservation. Why? There are two main reasons. First, we need to know the difference between our culture, or way of living, and the gospel way of living. Second, we are commanded to take the Book of Mormon to the Lamanites.

The best way to learn about and appreciate your own culture is to live in another culture humbly without complaining. You owe it to yourself to be exposed to another culture so you can better view your own culture. The effort is well worth the benefits. Your life will be more productive upon returning home because it will be easier for you to remove from your lifestyle some of those things that you thought were indispensable.

We are commanded to take the gospel to the Lamanites in Doctrine and Covenants 31, given in October 1830. The spirit of that message was not carried out as the men lost precious time by going to the white man. Because they did this, a great opportunity was lost and the Restoration Movement has been suffering ever since.

We are told in Doctrine and Covenants 3:15b that when we take the Book of Mormon to the Lamanites they will receive it, "they shall build it up, and shall bring to light the true points of my doctrine;" III Nephi 9:92 tell us that "the true points of My doctrine" is the covenant relationship, "come unto me" and "be baptized" are the first two steps of the three step covenant. The third step is doing what the Lord tells you to do.

Let none hear you idly saying, "There is nothing I can do."

While the souls of men are dying, And the Master calls for you.

Take the task He gives you gladly; Let His work your pleasure be.

Answer quickly when he calleth, "Here am I, O Lord, send me."
