In a meeting which consisted of
members of the Evangelism Council and
representatives
of the various missionary outreach groups, several immediate and future
needs were expressed
by the brethren. These needs are reflective of the fact that
the work of the Lord is expanding in many areas of
the domestic and foreign field, and the need for laborers
in
the vineyard is great.
There
is a need for husband and wife teams who would be willing to live
in countries such as England and Germany
on a short term (two-three months) or long term (one year or more)
basis. Preferable would be men who have Melchisedec priesthood
experience,
strong
leadership abilities, a desire to share the testimony of Jesus
Christ, adaptability to living overseas, and ability in speaking and
writing the language of the country
to
which they are assigned.
We
need to develop a list of resource persons who are able to speak
and write German, French, Russian, Polish, Spanish, etc., who would be
able to assist in translating and transcribing correspondence and
writing missionary
tracts.
Communication
from members of the Restoration who have family members
or friends living in foreign countries who desire to be visited by
our
missionary teams would help us build our missionary network. If you
are
living in a foreign country and desire to be visited by our
missionaries, please write to the Evangelism Council,
Conference
of Restoration Elders, and your request will be forwarded
to the
particular missionary group which has responsibilities for outreach
in your area.
Our
outreach extends to Asia, Africa, Europe, and British Isles, Latin
America, Australia, and the isles of the sea, as well as Canada and the
United States. If our missionaries are informed well in advance a trip
can be planned which reaches
your particular country.
We thank the many individuals and groups within
the Restoration who have donated both moneys and supplies in order to
advance
the cause of Christ. We know the seeds you are helping to sow will bear
fruit for the Kingdom, and we
are humbled by your unselfish dedication.
It is our
desire to further
the purposes of God by going
into all the world and sharing the
gospel of Jesus Christ. We are excited by
the new fields which are opening to us
and pray that you will also desire to
make yourself available for service to the Master.
